Competition Weekend – Day One Highlights

What an amazing weekend we had on 11th and 12th July, as we welcomed all of our recreational gymnasts to showcase their skills in a friendly competitive environment. The corridor was transformed with all things Wild West, complete with saddles proudly displayed in reception, creating a fantastic atmosphere the moment families walked through the door.

With the gym decorated, the coaches ready and the excitement building, we were set to go — and our gymnasts certainly delivered.

On Day One, our GymAbility and Year 5 gymnasts shone on both floor and vault, demonstrating confidence, hard work and fantastic progress. It was wonderful to see so many gymnasts performing with pride and enjoying the experience.

Competition Weekend – Day Two Highlights

The following day began bright and early with our youngest competitors proudly showing off their newly‑learnt skills in front of friends and family. The pride in the eyes of those watching was a truly lovely sight, and the gymnasts’ beaming smiles made every moment a joy to see.

We continued throughout the day with our year‑group rounds, giving each gymnast the chance to demonstrate their growing abilities. The podium was ready and waiting — and shine they did — as our young gymnasts stepped up to receive their newly‑won medals.

In the final round of the day, we returned to Floor & Vault with our Year 4 gymnasts, who showed no fear as they sprinted down the vault run to jump and handspring with confidence, achieving fantastic results.

Alongside the competition, we added a bit of extra fun with prizes for the most decorative sign, T‑shirt, hat, and more — a huge hit with the children. Thank you to Olipa Bakes for the delicious cupcake prizes.

The club also ran a raffle to support the purchase of new equipment for the gym, and we are delighted to announce that it raised over £600. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Rock the Mote and Kylie Sceal for their generous ticket donation towards this year’s event and Charlie Mercer, Debbie Hounsell and all the volunteers that made this a success!

A heartfelt thank you goes to all the gymnasts who bravely stepped onto the floor and vault — many for the very first time. Your courage, enthusiasm and determination were inspiring to watch. A huge congratulations to our hardworking coaches, whose dedication and pride in their gymnasts helped make the whole weekend such a success.
