Our Classes

Pegasus gymnasts are grouped according to age, ability, experience and individual needs, ensuring every member receives the right level of support and challenge.

We are proud to welcome children and young people with disabilities into our classes. Our coaching team includes staff with specialist training and experience in inclusive practice, enabling them to adapt activities and provide additional support where required.

All classes operate within the stringent guidelines of British Gymnastics, the National Governing Body for the sport. As part of this, all Pegasus members are required to hold British Gymnastics membership at a level appropriate to their programme.

Pre-School

Our Pre‑School programme offers a structured pathway of gymnastics and movement activities for children from 1 year old up to school age. Four clearly defined age bands ensure a smooth and developmentally appropriate progression—from playful, parent‑supported sessions through to early skill acquisition and increased independence.

Recreational Gymnastics

These classes provide structured coaching for school‑age children, giving them access to a full range of high‑quality gymnastics equipment and enabling every member to develop strong skills and a high level of competence.

Competitive Squads

Pegasus is home to three competitive squads: Men’s Artistic, Women’s Artistic and Floor & Vault. Across these pathways, our gymnasts have represented the club with pride at County, Regional, National and International events, with several athletes also achieving the honour of competing for Great Britain.

Gymability

Our GYMability classes are available to all children with a social, physical or learning disability. We provide a fun and safe environment for each individual to reach their maximum potential.

We offer a bespoke programme whereby children not only have the opportunity to enhance their gymnastics skill, but also improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

At Pegasus, we believe every child should have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of gymnastics, and our experienced coaches are committed to making that possible.

Freestyle Gymnastics

Freestyle classes give gymnasts the chance to learn exciting “street tricks” in a safe, friendly and fully supervised environment. This dynamic style blends traditional gymnastics and acrobatics with the kicks, leaps and creative movements made famous through martial arts, festival performers and stunt actors.

Adult Gymnastics

Aimed at adults aged 18+, these classes are fun, social and enjoyable, with coaching delivered at a pace that suits you. Whether you’re an ex‑gymnast, somebody who wants to “give it a go”, or simply looking to keep fit in a different way, anything is achievable.
